On May 5, 2025, Ukrainian documentary “20 Days in Mariupol” directed by Mstyslav Chernov participated in "Ciclo de Cinema Europeu" (European Cinema Cycle) in Maputo.

The event was held in partnership with the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Mozambique and the embassies of EU in the premises of the  French-Mozambican Cultural Centre (CCFM).

The screening was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Mozambique, Ukrainian community, local cultural and educational institutions, students, entrepreneurs and residents. 

Before the screening, the Head of the EU Delegation to Mozambique, Ambassador Antonino Maggiore, and the Ambassador of Ukraine Rostyslav Tronenko delivered speeches. They stressed the importance of telling the truth about the war started by Russia against Ukraine, the role of independent journalism and the importance of international solidarity.

The film evoked a strong emotional reaction, many of the audience expressed their support and solidarity with Ukraine.
