At the invitation of the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Mozambique, Mohamed Farghal, the Ambassador of Ukraine, Rostyslav Tronenko, attended a traditional Iftar dinner on 25 March 2025. 

In his speech, Ambassador Farghal underlined that Iftar reflects the generous spirit of solidarity and brotherhood brought about by the holy month of Ramadan, an environment that elevates the human soul to achieve justice and nobility with all the sincere meanings that are the basis of civilisation, development and progress.

Ambassador of Ukraine, during the conversation with the Egyptian Ambassador, informed about the implementation of the initiative by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to hold the Iftar together with the Muslim communities of Ukraine over the last three years. Rostyslav Tronenko thanked Egypt for supporting the UN General Assembly resolution "Promoting a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine" on 24 February 2025 and stressed the importance of continuing contacts at the level of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of both countries.

The event was attended by representatives of the People’s Assembly and the Government of Mozambique, the diplomatic corps, in particular ambassadors from the member countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, and religious leaders from Mozambique's Muslim communities, who are celebrating the holy month of Ramadan.
