The first ever in the history of bilateral relations Parliamentary Group of Friendship, Solidarity and Cooperation between Mozambique and Ukraine was established recently in the Assembly of the Republic of Mozambique.

H.E. Margarida Adamugy Talapa, President of the Assembly of the Republic, signed Resolution 74/2025 on the establishment of the Parliamentary Group of Friendship, Solidarity and Cooperation between Mozambique and Ukraine, which was in April 2026 published in the official gazette of the Republic of Mozambique, Boletim da República, thus completing the process of institutionalizing this body and creating conditions for the beginning of its activities.

The Friendship Group consists of 58 members of the Mozambican Parliament, representing all parliamentary factions of the Assembly of the Republic of Mozambique, headed by its President Mr. Mouzere Alberto Manuel Moiana (representing the pro-government faction of the Mozambique Liberation Front – FRELIMO).

The establishment of the Friendship Group significantly expands the opportunities for furthering mutually beneficial cooperation between the parliaments of Mozambique and Ukraine; it will significantly contribute to the development of the interstate dialogue for the benefit of the Ukrainian and Mozambican peoples. This event will also have a positive impact on the intensification of interparliamentary contacts between Ukraine and Mozambique, the implementation of projects of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation and the exchange of high-level parliamentary visits.
