On 8 May 2026, Mr. Rostyslav Tronenko, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Mozambique was received by Mrs. Maria Manuela dos Santos Lukas, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Mozambique. 

During the meeting, Madame Minister expressed appreciation over the intensification of bilateral relations, in particular recent contacts between Ukraine and Mozambique at the highest and high levels, confirming her commitment to furthering Ukrainian Mozambican cooperation. In this context, the Minister has welcomed the establishment of the first ever in the history of bilateral relations Parliamentary Group of Friendship, Solidarity and Cooperation with Ukraine in the Assembly of the Republic, which will contribute to the strengthening of inter-parliamentary contacts and cooperation.

During the talks the parties discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation, in particular the development of political dialogue, trade and economic cooperation, implementation of humanitarian projects, interaction in the spheres of education, healthcare, as well as issues of international security.
