On June 19, 2025, Ukraine took part for the first time in the annual Book Fair in Maputo, Mozambique.

Visitors had an opportunity to get acquainted with books in Ukrainian, Portuguese, and English about Ukraine or of Ukrainian authors.

The Ambassador of Ukraine, Rostyslav Tronenko, met with representatives of Mozambican publishing houses and philology students from local universities to discuss potential areas of cooperation in the field of literary translation and the promotion of Ukrainian literature. In his remarks, the Ambassador emphasized the importance of culture as a language of international dialogue.

Special attention was given to the presentation of the "Translate Ukraine" program by the Ukrainian Book Institute, which supports the translation of Ukrainian literary works into foreign languages.
