Unity Day of Ukraine
22 January 2026 10:59

On January 22, Ukrainians mark the Day of Unity. It commemorates the moment in 1919 when the Ukrainian People’s Republic and the West Ukrainian People’s Republic declared their unification into one state.

107 years ago in Kyiv, generations of Ukrainians saw our shared dream fulfilled: to be together, in our own state. The 1919 Act of Unification brought the lands of the Ukrainian People’s Republic and the West Ukrainian People’s Republic into a single country.

Today, unity is not only a remembrance of the past, but also a daily choice. It is expressed through mutual support and the readiness to take responsibility for our common future.

The living chains that, since 1990, have become a symbol of this day serve as a reminder that our strength lies in unity – a unity that forms the foundation of a strong, sovereign, and free state.

Today, Ukrainians continue to defend this right – the right to exist as an independent and free nation.
Unity for Ukrainians today is not abstract – it is about everyday choices that make us stronger and fill our hearts with hope.

We stand together. Stand with us, stand with Ukraine.
Glory to Ukraine!
