On 24 February 2026, the Portuguese Embassy, together with the European Union Delegation and the Ukrainian Embassy in Mozambique, presented the Ukrainian film "Porcelain War" at the Portuguese Cultural Centre in Maputo.
The screening was part of the events marking 4 years since Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine, as well as 12 years since Russia's illegal ocupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol.
The film is dedicated to the courage and resilience of Ukrainian citizens who, through art and culture, manage to resist, preserve human dignity and overcome the tragedy and injustice of war.
The screening brought together members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of Mozambican public institutions, Mozambican citizens and citizens of other countries, and friends of Ukraine. The event was honoured by the presence of Her Excellency Luiza da Luz Ribeiro, Venerable Judge - President of the Constitutional Council. During the event, H.E. Jorge Monteiro, Ambassador of Portugal, H.E. Rostyslav Tronenko, Ambassador of Ukraine, and H.E. Antonino Maggiore, Ambassador of the European Union, emphasised the importance of international solidarity with Ukraine and reaffirmed their commitment to defending freedom, international law and a just and lasting peace.
Once again, we thank our European and Mozambican partners for their solidarity and consistent support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.
