We are celebrating an important event - the first anniversary of the opening of the Ukrainian Embassy in the Republic of Mozambique.

The start of the diplomatic mission's work in Maputo on April 15, 2024 marked a new stage in the development of long-standing relations between Ukraine and Mozambique. 

Since the middle of the 20th century, Ukrainian universities have opened up opportunities for students from Mozambique, who later became highly qualified specialists and held important positions in their country. 

In the 1970s, Ukrainian professors, doctors and engineers began to come to Mozambique, fulfilled themselves professionally and gained recognition in Mozambique, linking their lives to this country. 

After Ukraine renewed its independence in 1991, our countries officially established diplomatic relations. New political, economic and trade co-operation projects were launched, at the same time the tradition of young Mozambicans studying at Ukrainian universities continued. 

In the period 1998-2024, the interests of Ukraine in the Republic of Mozambique were represented by the Ambassadors of Ukraine to the Republic of South Africa.

The opening of the Ukrainian Embassy in Mozambique's capital is testimony to Ukraine's interest in further strengthening bilateral relations, expanding political dialogue, developing economic cooperation and establishing direct contacts between our countries.

We thank our Mozambican friends for their valuable support, openness to dialogue and commitment to mutually beneficial cooperation!

We believe that the coming years will improve bilateral relations between Ukraine and Mozambique in a spirit of friendship, mutual respect and solidarity.
